What is the Unity Braids® Ceremony?
The Unity Braids® is a beautiful symbol used in a lot of wedding ceremonies.
The Cord of Three Strands symbolizes the joining of one man, one woman, and God into a marriage covenant. By keeping Him at the center of your marriage, His love will continue to bind you together as one throughout your marriage.
It derives from the bible verse "Ecclesiastes 4:12, "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken."
How do you implement the Unity Braids into the Ceremony?
After the exchange of the rings is when we recommend doing it :) The bride and groom braid the strands together, symbolizing the union of God, husband, and wife. There are many ways to incorporate this into your wedding ceremony.
What does the placement of the colors mean?
The placement of the cord colors is significant. The Brides' Color goes on the left, as she stands at the altar, God's color goes in the middle as He will be at the center of your marriage, the Groom's color goes on the right, as he is the head of the household and the protector of his new bride.
What is a "Pastor's Ceremony Reading"?
A Pastor's Ceremony Reading is a reading that we send as an example for the pastor to read; he or you and your future spouse can use another type of reading if you like. It is to help the pastor understand what the Unity Braids® are all about.
